Welcome to the Conversell guide for creating an Alexa bot with Amazon integration. This step-by-step guide will walk you through the process of setting up your Alexa bot using Conversell app.
Step 1: Create New Bot
Navigate to the « My Bots » and click the « Create New Bot » button at the top right corner.
- Enter a unique name for your bot in the « Name » field.
- Select « Amazon Alexa » as the platform channel for your bot.
- Choose your bot language.
- Click « Create Bot » to move forward with the setup.
Step 3: Integration with Amazon
- After your bot is created, you will be redirected to the « Settings » page.
- Starting with the integration, click on the « Login with Amazon » button.
- You will be redirected to the Amazon login page. Enter your Amazon Developer account email and password to sign in.
- Once logged in, you will be redirected back to Conversell, and a confirmation message will indicate that your Amazon account is successfully linked. This means your bot is now connected to your Amazon Developer Account.
Step 4: Configure Skill Settings
- Now, scroll down to the « Skill Settings » section.
Fill in the required fields:
- Invocation Name: Enter the phrase that users will use to launch your skill (e.g., « Hey Bot »).
- Short Description: Provide a brief description of what your skill does.
- Full Description: Write a detailed description of your skill’s functionalities.
- Upload your Skill Icon (The icon must be a 108×108 PNG file with a transparent background).
- Enter the URLs for: Privacy Policy URL and Terms of Use URL.
- Provide your Account Linking Credentials.
- Fill in additional details about your Alexa skill.
Step 5: Configure General Settings
Set up your voice assistant persona. Enter a human-like name for your voice assistant to make the interaction feel more natural and personalized. (e.g., « Hi, I am Hannah, your virtual assistant, » to create a friendly introduction).
Step 6: Configure Notifications
- Account Linking Setup: Start by entering the URL for account linking.
- Setting up Notifications: Then, scroll down to the « Notification Opt-In » section and set up notification details:
- Title: Enter a title for your notification opt-in, such as « Want instant Updates and Offers? »
- Description: Provide a brief description explaining the purpose of the notifications and why users should opt in.
- Button Text: Enter the text for the button users will click to opt-in, such as « Enable Notifications. »
- Save Your Changes.
Step 7: Test Your Alexa Skill
Enable the skill on your Alexa-enabled device and test using the invocation name (e.g., “Alexa, open [Your Bot Name]”).
Step 8: Review and Submit for Certification
- Review all your configurations and ensure every field is correctly filled out.
